Leyard TVF LED walls chosen to renovate two France Médias Monde studios

Leyard TVF Series LED screens have been designed to revolutionise flexibility. Their simple configuration and robust design made them ideal for the complete renovation of two studios at France Médias Monde's (FMM) headquarters in Issy-les-Moulineaux.

The French broadcasting group is publicly funded and receives 95% of its budget from the value-added tax (VAT) paid by all French citizens. This public funding guarantees its independence and underlines its socially responsible values – an ethos that perfectly aligns with Leyard Europe’s philosophy and was a key factor in the decision to select the TVF 1.2 mm series video walls.

Installed by Kardham Digital in collaboration with Leyard Europe, three screens completed the modular and flexible design in the first studio, measuring 7 x 4 metres and comprising 56 cabinets each. In the second studio, a single video wall of 112 cabinets measuring 14 x 3 metres was deployed. A unique mechanism enables seamless movement of both configurations within a scalable structure made up of modules that can be assembled to create multiple video walls. The TVF cabinets’ cable-free and stackable design eliminates the need for additional space around the video wall while offering the clean lines necessary for this studio-friendly configuration.

Mobile technology requires extreme durability, and Planar's proprietary ERO-LED™ (Extended Ruggedness and Optics™) protective coating provides the resilience needed to ensure the system operates flawlessly. It also offers a matte finish that preserves the visual performance of the video wall for years to come.

The studio layout, including desks and seating, is easily reconfigurable and designed to accommodate the channel’s varied broadcast formats. The interchangeable elements allow the group to maximize its use of the space. All the furniture is movable, and the screen's visual calibrations can be easily adjusted for optimal viewing from any camera angle during broadcasts.

During the winter of 2022, Leyard provided product demonstrations that met FMM's technical specifications. Extensive trials were conducted before FMM’s team selected the TVF Series. Direct delivery from Leyard Europe's factory in Prešov, Slovakia, resulted in a very short delivery time while reducing transport mileage, therefore improving the screens’ environmental footprint.

Construction was planned around studio availability and completed in an extremely short timeframe to ensure the spaces were ready for the network’s relaunch in September 2023. Eve Simon, Key Account Manager at Kardham Digital, oversaw the integration of all partners involved in the project.
