Leading financial institution chooses Leyard Europe LED screens for Unified Communication installation
When one of Europe’s leading financial institutions, an ethical bank renowned for worldwide reach and grassroots community support, looked to refurbish the boardroom in its HQ, Leyard Europe’s VDS Series was a natural choice for AVEX, project managers for the installation, thanks to the environmental benefits of Leyard’s LED Chip On Board (COB) MicroLED technology and the screen’s ease of configuration and operation.
Arjen Middendorp, AVEX Account Manager was approached in December last year to redesign the board room to accommodate an increase in video conferencing. AVEX, a family run business celebrating 35 years of trading, is a long-standing partner of the bank and their relationship was a key factor in the success of this project, with installation and after sales support being taken care of by the AVEX team.

“We are the regular home supplier for the bank, which requested a solution that had a ‘wow factor’ but was easy to interact with, robust and viewable from anywhere in the room,” explains Middendorp. “We chose Leyard’s VDS Series in a 21:9 configuration for Unified Communications because of its image quality and straightforward software.”
The experience of the meeting attendees was paramount, so the project included a complete redesign of the furniture, lighting, and aspect of the video screen to make the boardroom a functional and comfortable space.
The VDS LED screen is the perfect solution for multiuse, hybrid applications such as this, with front access ensuring the screens can be mounted directly onto the wall on steel brackets. Due to the fine pixel pitch, Leyard field engineers assisted in the design and completion to help ensure the success of the installation.

The Leyard VDS Series ultra-wide format and fine pixel pitch ensure comfortable viewing, while the compatibility with Microsoft Front Row and similar unified communication tools makes remote working feel more inclusive than ever. In the bank’s boardroom, the video wall is mounted to specifically allow remote attendees to be viewed at the same height as the people seated in the room, a more natural solution for communication because everyone’s eyes are at the same level.
Horizontal viewing angles of up to 170 degrees and close viewing distances of just 1.5 metres ensure the screen is ideally suited to fit modern boardrooms. It is large enough to facilitate multi-source content and life-sized, high-resolution video conferencing, but compact enough to ensure it is not overpowering in the space.
COB technology reduces heat dissipation and increases durability, so the screen is cooler to sit next to and less susceptible to damage from knocks or bumps. The price point is similar to SMD technology, yet offers a much higher contrast ratio and rugged front. For Robin van der Heiden, Leyard Field Sales Manager, working with AVEX was an honour.
